PAI

High strength, thermal resistance, and abrasion resistance:

• PAI is an amorphous resin, combining the excellent thermal resistance and mechanical strength of imide bonding with the easy workability and high toughness of amide bonding. lt has high thermal resistance (continuous use temperature 250°C) and high resistance to temperature-dependent deformation (heat distortion temperature 279°C). ln addition, the resin has good mechanical properties (in particular, tensile strength and impact strength), fatigue resistance, flame resistance, favorable abrasion and wear characteristics, and is not prone to stress cracks. The "Tl resin" used in the Tl 5000 series is a PAl resin, which offers favorable electrical properties.

• PAl is widely used for structural parts of OA equipment, electrical and electronic components, industrial machinery (semiconductor and LCD manufacturing equipment, plating equipment, steel machinery parts), and automotive parts.

■ Features:

• Highest mechanical strength within the unfilled (unreinforced) plastics.

• High glass transition temperature at 280°C means that the mechanical strength of the material at 250°C is equal to the strength of POM at room temperature.

• Excellent abrasion resistance also at temperatures up to 200°C. Self-lubricating properties allow use for sliding parts even at temperatures above 200°C without the need for lubrication.

• Excellent resistance to most of the organic and inorganic chemicals.

• lt is complying with the Food Sanitation Law. (Health and Welfare Ministry Announcements No. 370 and No. 20)

• Pre-drying is required to be used under high temperature of 200°C or higher. Bloating may occur when a PAl that has absorbed moisture is heated rapidly.
